I work in Washington State and my employer will not allow me back to work pending results from a mental health?

I am trying to find out if it is legal for my employer (a private company not involved with national or public safety or security) to require this of me, and what I am entitled to as far as pay is concerned for the lost time this is costing me on the job.

The company has the legal right to require that you show mental stability before allowing you to return to work, although you did not say something must have happened to cause concern in that area and it is your responsibility to provide proof.
